Omfed Employees Elated After Receiving SKOCH Award
Bhubaneswar: There is a wave of happiness among the employees after Omfed received SKOCH Award-2024 at the national level. Omfed received the National Award at a special ceremony held in New Delhi on 15th June. Omfed Chairman Shri Kishore Chandra Pradhani and General Manager, Sambalpur Milk Union, Dr Saroj Sahu received the award. On this occasion, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Shri Kishore Chandra Pradhan, Chairman, OMFED. Among others present on the occasion included Mr. Vijay Amruta Kulange (IAS), Managing Director, Mr. Digambar Nayak, Technical Advisor & General Manager, Cuttack Milk Union, Mr. Saumyendra Bhaumik, General Manager (Project), Mr. Suresh Chandra Alatia, General Manager (Finance), Dr. Jayakrushna Patnaik, Deputy General Manager (Human Resource), Dr. Biswaranjan Tripathy, Deputy General Manager (Material Management), Mr. Alok Agnivesh, Head of Marketing, Mrs. Manaswini Patnaik, Assistant Manager (PR), Mr. Jitendra Kumar Barada, Assistant Manager (IT) and all the officers and staff.
The conservation of germ plasma is being done to increase the breed of Binjharpur cows. Omfed is encouraging farmers to increase the number of Binjharpur cows. That’s why he got the award. Not only Binjharpur cows, if we work in a planned manner with a vision in every field, it will definitely be successful. And we have a lot of work ahead of us. We will work for the betterment of Omfed collectively without any personal interest. Omfed is a cooperative of dairy farmers. A picture of Odia culture. Its protection and improvement is our first and foremost duty. On the other hand, the quality of Omfed products will not be compromised under any circumstances, said Shri Vijay Amruta Kulange (IAS), Managing Director, Omfed.
It is to be noted that various initiatives and incentives are being taken by Omfed, OUAT and the state government to increase the Binjharpur cow breed. At present, there are more than 2 lakh cows in the country. Omfed alone procures and processes 1200-1500 litres of milk per day and releases it in the market. There is a huge demand for cow milk in the market. Omfed is now planning to produce ghee from it. The SKOCH Awards are given at the national level to individuals, institutions, projects, institutions, etc. for their outstanding contribution towards India’s development, including good governance, economic development, and application of technology, social responsibility and inclusive growth.
