Omfed receives Special Award for its outstanding contribution to the dairy sector in the State
Bhubaneswar: On 19.11.2025, Omfed received a special award for its outstanding contribution to the dairy sector in the State. Omfed has been awarded this honour on the occasion of 72nd All India Cooperative Week-2025. Hon’ble Minister for Cooperation Shri Pradip Bal Samant graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and gave the awards on behalf of the State Government at a special function held at Jayadev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar on 19th Nov. 2025. Omfed President Shri Kishore Chandra Pradhan and in-charge Human Resource Development Head Shri Nityadarshan Mishra received the special cups and certificates from the guests on the dais. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Cooperation, Mr. Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Siddharth Das, President of Cooperative Societies Union, Prabhashini Shadangi, and General Secretary of Cooperative Societies, Santosh Kumar Nayak. The programme was attended by hundreds of people from different parts of the State, representatives of various social organisations and representatives of various Co-Operative Societies of the state.
If the cooperative societies work with unity in the state, it will be very helpful in the economic development of the state. Not only this, Hon’ble Minister Shri Bal Samant has given a call to further expand the cooperative movement. He said that the goal of Vikshita Odisha of the state government and Vikshita Bharata mission of the central government can be achieved if cooperative societies reach everyone.
Omfed has been instrumental in creating the second white revolution in the state by providing various facilities to the dairy farmers in a well-organized manner. Omfed is continuously working towards the economic growth and development of lakhs of dairy farmers through cooperatives. Shri Kishore Chandra Pradhan, President, Omfed said that Omfed has received this award for being a major proponent of the cooperative movement.
Expressing happiness on the occasion, he said that keeping in view the mission and vision of the state government, Omfed is taking the cooperative movement forward. In the coming days, many more cooperative societies will be formed and efforts will be made for their economic development.
